Then and now
It was originally conceived by the previous resort’s management, Tanya and Allan Wheway, who believed in the power of community and connection. They recognised that many guests, especially those traveling solo, might feel a bit apprehensive about dining alone.
To address this, they introduced the Champneys Table, a designated table in the restaurant where guests could choose to dine together.
This simple yet brilliant idea fostered a sense of camaraderie and provided an opportunity for like-minded individuals to connect and share their experiences.
Over the years, the Champneys Table has become an integral part of the Champneys experience, cherished by countless guests. It has evolved alongside the resorts, adapting to the changing needs and preferences of visitors as social wellness forms part of each person’s overall wellbeing
Today, it continues a beloved tradition, offering a warm and welcoming space for solo travellers and anyone seeking a bit of social interaction during their spa stay. Recently introducing a specialist sharing menu and a glass of prosecco to unwind.
