With 9 established hives, and more to come we are proud to have introduced exclusivley native bees. For a limited amount time throughout the year we are delighted to be able to offer honey harvested from our own hives! Located 10 miles down the road in Smarden, The Big Cat Sanctuary is a UK based charity established to conserve wild cats globally.

This is achieved through developing and supporting partnerships with other conservation organisations and co-ordinating with breeding programmes of these endangered cats and by fulfilling our four pillars of ethos: Welfare, Breeding, Education and Conservation. We are proud to announce that Auto Vivendi, the world's largest private members' supercar club, is operating a Club Hub from the hotel.

Auto Vivendi members receive use of a collection of the world’s best supercars and super-SUVs, in return for an annual membership fee. The Club also organises a mouth-watering array of driving and lifestyle events, which can be attended by members of the Club and non-members alike.

It is our privilege to be located near some of the finest wineries in the UK. Amongst them, Gusbourne stands as one of the finest.

The only producer of exclusivley Vintage sparkling wines in the UK, and creators of the ultra-premium '51 Degrees North' a visit to their winery experience is must-do while in the area.

From the moment they planted their first vines in 2004, their vision has been to create the finest vintage wines using grapes exclusively from their own vineyards. They grow the highest quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes across the Gusbourne Estate, with 60 hectares in Appledore, Kent and 30 hectares next to the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex.

These predominantly Burgundian clones yield smaller volumes of intensely flavourful fruit, which thrive in our unique microclimates. This exceptional produce is the vital first ingredient in making their award-winning sparkling wines, all crafted using the traditional method.

Their debut vintages – Brut Reserve 2006 and Blanc de Blancs 2006 – were released in 2010 to critical acclaim, earning accolades from the world’s most exacting wine critics. Gusbourne sparkling and still wines continue to win prestigious national and international industry awards every year.
