About Loriane
Loraine discovered the joy of movement when her mother enrolled her in ballet classes at a young age.
Always interested in how the body moves, she’s been dancing and exercising for as long as she can remember. Loraine qualified as a physiotherapist in 1995 and discovered pilates during a post-grad course on muscle balance. This led to a full pilates certification, which includes all the big machines like the reformer.
She has been teaching in her boutique pilates studio since 2008. A keen yogi, Loraine loves to bring a mindful element to her pilates classes encouraging that mind body connection.

how DOES it work?
The pilates method is often described as “Strength with stretch and control”, so our first class works through many of the classic reformer exercises to try and achieve those goals.
Then we take a short break before our second class of the day which has a more yoga feel. Joseph Pilates trained in yoga and this influence shows in much of the repertoire in his method. We will explore the fusion between the styles trying some yoga poses on the reformer.
After our morning’s activities a healthy buffet lunch is provided and then you are free to relax in the spa facilities.
